Must I prepare any other tools when developing built-in applications? The following tools are required for developing built-in applications: Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition ActiveSync (for file transfer) Virtual PC (for PC simulator) * Note that built-in applications cannot be developed using Visual Studio 2005 or 2010, 2012, 2013, Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition or Express Edition.
Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition is no longer on sale. Is there any way that I can obtain it? In order to obtain Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition, you have to purchase a new version of Visual Studio Professional standard subscription, and then download the old version of Visual Studio from the Microsoft website (from the subscriber downloads). When is it necessary to purchase the BT-WHD1 (SDK)? This is necessary if (1) you are using Visual Studio 2008 Pro to develop embedded applications or (2) you are performing device control of the handy terminal.
